3rd Annual Conference for Alumni in Chinuch and the Rabbinate
CTL’s third annual conference for alumni in the Rabbinate and Chinuch once again provided a valuable opportunity for learning, networking and professional development.
Chaired by Rabbi Dr. Aaron Ross, this year’s conference focused opened with a lunch workshop led by Rabbi Mordechai Friedman, focusing on the challenges of teaching Gemara to teenagers. Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Baruch Gigi, Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Mosheh Lichtenstein and Rosh Beit Midrash Mrs. Esti Rosenberg reflected on current challenges facing Israel in an enlightening panel discussion. Rabbi Leonard Matanky then introduced the keynote address by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, who spoke about “Shepherds and Sheepdogs – Models of Rabbinic Leadership”.
It was once again a pleasure to welcome Rabbi Saul Paves of Sau Paulo who flew in specially for the conference, participating alongside many alumni of the Yeshiva and Migdal Oz. In the final session of the day, all participants had the opportunity to share their best practices in focused groups. Rabbi Gedalya Berger and Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Rosenblatt led the communal track. The educators track was led by Mrs Miriam Coren and Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, bringing the successful conference to a close.
