Minha Tehora by Rav Danny Wolf '75,
Ram in the Yeshiva. The book is well-organized and provides a clear
and thorough introduction to Sefer Taharot. It will also be of
interest to those with more knowledge of these topics and includes two
chapters with practical halachic applications - visits by kohanim
to concentration camps and flights over cemeteries. Published by Yeshivat

The Poetry of Prayer: Tehillim
in Tefillah,
by Rabbi Avi Baumol '88, published by Gefen, originally a
Virtual Beit Midrash shiur. Often we find it difficult to
concentrate on the prayers we recite due partly to a lack of understanding
of the biblical poetry in the tefillot. This book aims to unlock
the mystery of the various tehillim which comprise the
tefillah. Fresh Fruit
and Vintage Wine, The Ethics and Wisdom of the Aggada, by Rav Yitzchak Blau
'86, co-published by KTAV, the OU and the VBM. While legal sections of Talmud
constitute the bedrock of Jewish life and religious practice, aggadic
sections explore the rich world of Jewish ethics, psychology, wisdom,
philosophy, and theology. The writing is lively, engaging the mind and
elevating the soul, and the unfolding meaning is a profound and original
experience of Torah study. Originally a VBM course, 20%

Torat Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael: The Foundations of Judaism as Revealed in
Sefer Devarim by Rav David Milston
'83, published by Midreshet
HaRova. The 13 Middot of Mercy: On the
Existence of Man (Hebrew) by Rav Ezra
Bick, Ram in the Yeshiva and head of the Virtual Beit Midrash. The book is based on a series of
shiurim given in Elul over the years by Rav Bick to talmidim in the
Yeshiva. Rav Bick notes that the sefer is the fruit of discussion and feedback from
his talmidim as it says: "Mi'talmidai yoter me'kulam." A
book-launching was held Erev Yom Kippur with the participation of Rav Beni
Lehman, Prof. Shalom Rosenberg, Rosh Yeshiva Rav Yaakov Medan and Rav Bick
at the Ramban Shul in Jerusalem. The evening program was in memory of
Aliza Kahn z"l to mark her first yahrzeit (15 Tishrei). To order: office@etzion.org.il
