STUDIES IN THE THOUGHT AND SCHOLARSHIP OF RABBI AHARON LICHTENSTEIN ZT”L

Through his teaching and writing, as well as through his exemplary personal qualities, Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein zt”l exercised a decisive influence over generations of students, rabbinic leaders, scholars and public figures in Israel, America and beyond. A month before his passing, he was honored with a special hardcover volume of Tradition containing fourteen in-depth essays exploring many facets of his teaching: his views on faith, Jewish identity, religious humanism, liberal arts education, Jewish law, public policy, public discourse, morality, study of the Talmud and the Bible, and more. This volume, meant to analyze and celebrate Rabbi Lichtenstein’s many contributions, can now be regarded as a first attempt to contextualize, evaluate and memorialize this titan of modern Jewish life.

The volume is edited by YHE alumni Rabbi Yitzchak Blau, Prof. Alan Jotkowitz and Rabbi Reuven Ziegler. The table of contents and introduction are available here.

We are happy to make this volume available for purchase to all those interested in the legacy of Rav Lichtenstein:
