Iyun Shiur in Katamon
CTL is proud to include this Shiur as one of its partner projects. Here’s a report from Yeshivat Har Etzion alumnus Brendan Stern, who turned to CTL for support and successfully coordinates the weekly Shiur:
Thank G-d with the help of CTL the shiur has flourished and continues to grow from strength to strength - both qualitatively and quantitatively. Rav Kobi Gigi prepares and delivers the shiur at the home of one of the bogrim of the MTA program of the Yeshiva.
We have also been blessed to have guest lecturers from time to time, including Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Mosheh Lichtenstein shlit”a, which has helped maintain a feeling of connection and kinship with the Yeshiva. An additional benefit of the shiur is that it has provided many bogrim with a personal relationship with a Rav which is often lacking post-aliyah. More than merely presenting information, Rav Kobi has embodied the mentor position necessary, providing halachic-guidance, direction, advice and support on any and every issue that arises in both the personal and communal spheres.
The gratitude and indebtedness all of the participants feel towards CTL is immense. As one of the participants, Mordechai, put it "I don't know where I'd be without this shiur. It has transformed me from merely living in Eretz Yisrael to feeling that I am now living Eretz Yisrael. The shiur is my power hour for the week. Thank you Rav Kobi and thank you CTL for providing this most vital initiative!"
