Shiurim in Givat Shmuel
CTL partnered with the Givat Shmuel Community (GSC) for their very impressive series of shiurim geared towards College students. Speakers included Yeshivat Har Etzion personalities such as Rav Moshe Taragin, Eli Weber, Rav Binyamin Zimmerman, Rav Assaf Bednarsh, Joe Wolfson, Ariel Brounstein and many others.
Here’s a report from coordinators Daniel Gross (YHE ‘09-‘12) and Hillel Davis (YHE ‘11-’12):
We hosted a new series of a shiurim which took place in the cheder iruim in our apartment building every Sunday night. We drew a nice size crowd every week ranging from 25-85, with a crowd of about 45 on an average week. We hosted different Rabeim from yeshivot and midrashot.
Our goal was twofold. First, we wanted to create an environment of spiritual growth based on Torah on a communal level. Second, we want to help the members of our community reconnect to the world of Torah and to the many institutions in which they feel that they relate to, something that many living here find lacking. Thank God we well exceeded our expectations for both of these goals. There has been incredibly positive feedback about the shiur, and its impact has definitely been felt in the community. In the days following different shiurim people in the community were still discussing the topic and different issues that were raised in that week's shiur.
We'd like to thank the CTL for assisting us in spreading Yeshivat Har Etzion’s Torah, messages, and way of life.
