Congratulations to Rav Reuven Taragin '88 and Rabbanit Shani Taragin upon becoming the new Directors of Education of the Religious Zionists of America – Mizrachi USA.

As you are likely aware, Rabbi Taragin served as Director of “Seventy for 70,” which had a broad and significant impact on the Religious Zionist community in the United States. Rabbi Taragin brings a unique set of skills as both a Rosh Yeshiva as well as a superior convener of Kehilot interested in advancing our mission. In addition to his role at the RZA, Rabbi Taragin will assume a similar role at Mizrachi Olami, which seeks to impact other communities around the world. He will also continue to serve as Dean of Overseas Students at Yeshivat HaKotel.

Rabanit Shani Taragin, one of the most in-demand Israeli educators and a significant part of “Seventy for 70,” is a graduate of Nishmat’s Keren Ariel Program for certification as a halachic advisor (Yoetzet Halacha) in issues of family purity law. She is the educational director of MaTaN’s Eshkolot Tanakh teachers’ education program and of the Morot l’Halacha program in MaTaN Renana. Rabbanit Shani also serves on the advisory committee for Mizrachi Olami’s Shalhevet program for Shlichim.

Together, the Taragins also serve as Roshei Beit Midrash of Camp Moshava IO during the summer months.

In addition to spearheading a series building upon the success of “Seventy for 70,” Rabbi Taragin will be expanding this initiative into a year-around RZA-Mizrachi USA Speakers Bureau about which you will soon learn more. Together, Rabbi and Rabanit Taragin will also be launching several new innovative educational initiatives for members of the RZA; please be on the lookout for upcoming announcements about these programs.
