Women's Beit Midrash in Netivot
The exciting phenomenon of new learning opportunities being created for women has been a growing trend in recent years. However, for women living far away from major population centers such as Yerushalayim, Gush Etzion and Ra'anana, such opportunities are either very limited or involve traveling long distances, which does not always fit in with work, studying or family schedules.
For this reason, Migdal Oz Alumna, Zivit Berliner, turned to CTL for assistance in setting up the Women's Beit Midrash in Netivot. Following a successful pilot during the month of Elul, a year-long program was established, offering learning tracks in the mornings and evenings, covering a broad range of topics and interests.
The impressive list of educators includes Rav David Assulin, Rosh Yeshivat Hesder in Netivot, Dr. Shifra Assulin, Chagai Dvir and Zivit Berliner herself.
Sharing her thoughts about the promising initial successes of the Beit Midrash, Zivit commented, "For me, this is the realization of a dream – to facilitate for the women of the South, including myself, to learn, to teach and to delve in Torah".
