Likrat Shabbat
Every Thursday evening, dozens of women from across Gush Etzion and Jerusalem join together with the regular students of the Stella K. Abraham Beit Midrash for Women in Migdal Oz to learn from two leading Torah personalities.
The first Shiur is given leading educator, Mrs. Malka Puterkovsky, on the topic of Parshat Hashavua. This is followed by Rav Yuval Cherlow's Shiur on Religious Zionism. Rav Cherlow is the Rosh Yeshiva is Yeshivat Hesder Petach Tikva and a prominent alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion.
The participants include alumnae of Migdal Oz, together with mothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, friends and neighbours of past and present students. The Shiurim are dedicated to the memory of Mrs Deborah (Dora) Lipshitz z"l, the grandmother of an alumna of Migdal Oz.
Through this exciting program, Migdal Oz opens its doors and its learning to the wider community, simultaneously bringing numerous CTL goals to fruition: Promoting Women's learning; bringing Torah from the Beit Midrash to the wider community; and supporting an impressive initiative of alumnae of Migdal Oz.
